Jonathan Clarke, M.D.

 Dr. Jonathan Clarke is a decorated veteran, physician leader, and healthcare entrepreneur. He served for 15 years in the US Navy as a Flight Surgeon and Emergency Physician supporting US Marines during combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. He then served for 5 years in the US Air Force Reserve as a Flight Surgeon supporting worldwide Air Force contingency operations. 

Dr. Clarke is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Since 2012, he has worked with Envision Healthcare as an Emergency Physician, Medical Director, Regional Medical Director and Trauma Medical Director. In 2014, Dr. Clarke founded one of the nation’s first on-demand healthcare platforms, Mend, which was acquired in 2017. In 2021, Dr. Clarke joined Oxford VR / OVR Health, an Optum Ventures portfolio company, as their Chief Clinical Executive. His current areas of interest lie around access to healthcare, quality, cost, data science, augmented intelligence and virtual reality. He continues to mentor startups through the Health Wildcatters program. Dr. Clarke is currently pursuing an MBA in Healthcare Management at the UTD Naveen Jindal School of Management. He is married with two children, two dogs and five chickens and lives in East Dallas
